Getting started
What is Bill&Go?
Bill&Go is a point of sale (POS) for restaurants and cafés in Cambodia. It takes orders at the counter, sends tickets to the kitchen, takes payment in riel or US dollars, and closes each shift with a count of the drawer.
Can customers pay in both riel and US dollars?
Yes. You set your shop's rate, and a customer can hand over dollars and riel in the same payment. The till works out the change: whole dollars first, the rest in riel, rounded to the nearest 100 riel in the customer's favour.
What equipment do I need?
A tablet or computer with a web browser for the till, and your receipt, kitchen or label printers on the shop's network. Then one thing to print with: the free Bill&Go Printing app on a Windows or Mac computer on that network, or a Bill&Go Printing Core box, which also prints to printers plugged into it by USB. The Bill&Go POS app for tablets and phones is coming to the App Store and Google Play.
Does Bill&Go work for more than one branch?
Yes. Each branch can have its own menu, staff and tables, and its own shifts and stock. The owner sees every branch from one dashboard.
Can I write my menu in Khmer?
Yes. Every dish, option and category can carry a Khmer name beside the English one, and your receipt can print the Khmer names.
How do I start using Bill&Go?
Create your shop on the web: it takes a minute and needs no card. Then add your first store and your menu, connect your printers and open the till. The Bill&Go team in Phnom Penh is there if you want a hand.
What it does
How do I start?
Create your shop on the web: it takes a minute. Then add your first store and your menu, connect your printers and open the till. The Bill&Go team in Phnom Penh is there if you want a hand. Every new shop gets one month of Pro free, no card needed, and Free keeps running after that.
Do I need special hardware?
No. The till runs in a web browser on a tablet or computer you already have. Your receipt, kitchen and label printers need to be on the shop's network, or plugged into a Printing Core box by USB.
How does kitchen printing work?
Each ticket waits in Bill&Go's print queue until your shop's printing app or Printing Core box takes it and prints it on the right printer. If a printer is off, the ticket waits and tries again; one that keeps failing shows at the till with Try again.
Can I use my existing computer for printing?
Yes. Install the free Bill&Go Printing app on a Windows or Mac computer on the same network as your printers, and pair it with a code from the dashboard.
Can I run more than one store?
Yes. Each branch can have its own menu, staff, tables, shifts, stock, deals, receipt template and money settings, and you switch between them in one tap. Free covers one branch; Starter two, Growth five and Pro fifteen.
What happens when my plan reaches its limits?
You can keep using everything you already have; a limit only stops you adding more, and says which plan to move to. Orders are never refused: past 100 orders a day on Free, the till shows an upgrade notice.
How are subscriptions handled?
Monthly or yearly by card through Paddle, from the billing page on the web. Moving to a smaller plan switches nothing off, and a plan that ends leaves your shop on Free.
Does Bill&Go handle Grab and foodpanda commission?
Yes. Set each delivery app's rate once, as a percent and, if it charges one, a fixed amount per order. When you ring a delivery and pick the app, Bill&Go works out its cut on the food after discounts and keeps it on the order. The customer's bill never changes; your shift slip, Analytics and Telegram day report show each app's sales, its commission and what you kept.
Plans and pricing
Is the limit on printers?
No. Plans count printing boxes or computers, not printers. A Bill&Go Printing Core box in your shop, or the Bill&Go Printing app on one of your computers, prints to every printer on the shop network or plugged into the box by USB: receipt, kitchen and sticker printers alike. Most shops need one; every plan gives two per shop, so you can keep a spare.
What happens after 100 orders a day on the Free plan?
Nothing stops. The till keeps selling, because a customer at the counter should never be turned away. From the 101st order of the day, the till and the dashboard show a notice suggesting an upgrade. The count starts again at midnight, shop time.
What are connections?
Connections send what the till does somewhere else: paid orders to your books in BasilBook, each sale and the day's takings to Telegram, QR payments through your own ABA PayWay account that confirm themselves, and the shop API, which lets your own website or system read your menu, orders, sales and stock and send orders to the till. They come with Starter and up. If your shop moves to Free later, a connection already switched on keeps working; changing it needs Starter again, and you can always switch it off.
How does QR ordering at the table work?
When you seat a table, the till prints a QR code, or shows it on screen. Customers scan it and order from their own phone: nothing to install, no sign-in. Each order waits at the till until someone accepts it, then it joins the table's order and the kitchen ticket prints. They pay at the end, like any table, and the code stops working once the table is paid. It comes with Starter and up.
How does the free month of Pro work?
Every new shop gets one month of the Pro plan for free, with no card needed. Pick a plan at any time during the month. If you do not, your shop moves to the Free plan when the month ends.
What happens when the trial ends, or when I move to a smaller plan?
Nothing you have set up is cut off. Your printing boxes, staff and connections keep working, and your menu and orders stay. You just cannot add more than the new plan allows until you upgrade or remove some.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. Move up at any time and the new limits apply straight away. Moving down keeps everything you already have working, as above.
How does yearly billing work?
A year costs the same as ten months, so two months are free. Switching from monthly to yearly starts a new year straight away. Switching from yearly to monthly takes effect when the year you paid for ends.
How do I pay?
Plans are paid by card, or another method Paddle offers at checkout. Paddle is our reseller: it takes the payment and sends the receipt, and it may add local tax at checkout, so the total you see there is what you pay. Prices are in US dollars. You can change the card, download invoices or cancel at any time; a cancelled plan runs to the end of what you paid for, then your shop moves to Free.
Does every plan include the full till?
Yes. Dine-in, takeaway and delivery orders, menu options, kitchen tickets and cup stickers, cash in riel and dollars, shift counts and promotions are on every plan, Free included. Plans differ in how many branches, printing boxes, staff and products you can have; Starter and up add connections and sales charts.
Restaurants
How does Bill&Go handle open tables?
Each table keeps one open order, and you can add dishes to it at any point in the meal. Dishes already sent to the kitchen stay as they were and are shown apart from the dishes you are adding now, so nothing already cooking is changed by mistake.
What happens if a guest cancels a dish after it reached the kitchen?
Take the dish off the order and give a reason. The kitchen gets a TAKE OFF ticket, the bill is priced again, and the change is logged with who made it and when. To cancel a whole unpaid order, void it with a reason: the kitchen gets a VOID, DO NOT COOK ticket and the table is freed.
Do I need a kitchen printer, or can cooks use a screen?
Either works. Kitchen tickets can print on a kitchen printer on your shop network, or show on a kitchen screen: a wall tablet listing every order still in the kitchen, oldest first, marked late after 10 minutes and very late after 20.
Can a happy hour apply itself at the till?
Yes. Set the days and hours, the discount (percent off, money off, or buy X get Y free) and which dishes and branches it covers. The till applies it automatically and the bill shows what came off. A cashier can remove a deal but can never invent one.
What do I need to run Bill&Go in a restaurant in Cambodia?
A tablet or computer with a web browser for the till, your receipt and kitchen printers on the shop network, and one thing to print with: the free Bill&Go Printing app on a Windows or Mac computer on that network, or a Bill&Go Printing Core box, which also takes printers plugged in by USB.
Cafés
Is Bill&Go a good fit for a coffee shop or bubble tea shop?
Yes. Bill&Go is a café POS built in Phnom Penh for busy drink counters. Sugar, ice and add-ons open with the usual choices already picked, each drink can print its own cup sticker, every order gets a daily call number, and customers can pay in riel, US dollars or both.
Can the till print a sticker for every cup?
Yes. Set a category such as Coffee or Milk Tea to print stickers, and each drink in it prints a sticker on your label printer with the order number, the drink and its choices. Food in other categories does not print a sticker.
How do sugar level, ice and add-ons work?
You create option groups such as Sugar level, Ice and Add-ons and choose the usual answer for each. When the cashier taps a drink, those answers are already selected, so a usual order is one more tap. Required choices must be answered before the order can go out, and add-ons can add to the price.
Can I run a happy hour on drinks?
Yes. Set a percent off, a money-off amount, or buy X get Y free on chosen drinks, and limit it to certain days and hours. The till applies it by itself and shows what came off on the bill. The cashier can remove a deal but cannot invent one.
Can I sell canned drinks by the can and by the box?
Yes. Sell a drink one can at a time and also as a box of 24 at its own price. Stock is counted per branch in single cans and shown as, for example, 3 Box + 5 Can. A sale is never blocked by a wrong count.
Can a customer pay in dollars and get change in riel?
Yes. You set your shop's rate, and a customer can pay in dollars, riel, or both at once. The till gives change in whole dollars first and the rest in riel, rounded to the nearest 100 riel in the customer's favour.
Kitchen printing
How does kitchen order printing work in Bill&Go?
When the cashier sends an order, Bill&Go prints the kitchen ticket on the kitchen printer, the bill on the receipt printer, and cup stickers on the label printer. The free Bill&Go Printing app on a Windows or Mac computer on the printers' network, or a Bill&Go Printing Core box, prints them with no print dialog.
What happens if the kitchen printer or the printing computer is off?
Nothing is lost. Every ticket waits in a queue, and when the printer or the computer is back on, the waiting tickets print.
How does the kitchen know an order was cancelled or a dish was removed?
When an unpaid order is voided, the kitchen gets a ticket that says VOID, DO NOT COOK, and the table is freed. When a dish is taken off a sent order, the kitchen gets a TAKE OFF ticket and the bill is re-priced. Both need a reason, and every change is logged with who made it and when.
Can cooks use a screen instead of paper tickets?
Yes. The kitchen screen runs on a wall tablet and shows every order still in the kitchen, oldest first. An order is marked late after 10 minutes and very late after 20. If the shop chooses, cooks tap Start cooking and Mark ready.
What printers and paper sizes can I use?
Receipt, kitchen and label printers on your shop's network, or plugged in by USB to a Bill&Go Printing Core box, with 58mm or 80mm paper. The paper width is set in each branch's receipt template.
How do I set up kitchen printing?
Put your printers on the shop network, install Bill&Go Printing on a Windows or Mac computer on that network, and type the one-time code from the dashboard to pair it. The app starts with the computer and updates itself.
Riel, dollars and Khmer
Can a POS in Cambodia take riel and dollars in the same payment?
Bill&Go can. A customer can hand over US dollars and Cambodian riel together for one bill. The till adds them up at your shop's rate and shows the change to give back.
How does Bill&Go work out change in riel and dollars?
Change is given in whole dollars first, and the rest in riel, rounded to the nearest 100 riel in the customer's favour. For example, at 4 100 riel to the dollar, a 38 500 riel bill paid with a $20 note gets $10 and 2 500 riel back. The same figure is shown on screen and saved in the shift records.
Can I set my own exchange rate?
Yes. Each shop sets the rate it uses at the till. Every cash payment and every change amount is worked out at that rate.
Can the menu and receipts show Khmer names?
Yes. Every dish, category and option can carry a Khmer name beside the English one, and your receipt template can print the Khmer names or leave them off. The app's own buttons and menus are in English.
What equipment does Bill&Go need in Cambodia?
A tablet or computer with a web browser for the till, receipt, kitchen or label printers on your shop's network, and one thing to print with: the free Bill&Go Printing app on a Windows or Mac computer on that network, or a Bill&Go Printing Core box, which also takes printers plugged in by USB. Paper can be 58mm or 80mm.
More than one branch
What is a multi-branch POS?
A multi-branch POS runs the tills of several shops from one account. With Bill&Go, each branch has its own till, menu, staff, tables, shifts and stock, and the owner manages every branch from one dashboard.
Do I have to build a separate menu for each branch?
No. You keep one menu. A dish with no branch set is sold at every branch, so you only choose branches for the dishes a shop does not sell. A new branch starts with every dish that has no branch set.
Can staff work at more than one branch?
Yes. Choose the branches each person works at, or none so they work at all of them. Staff only see their own branches. Someone who works at more than one gets a branch switcher on the till, which asks before clearing an order in progress.
Is stock counted separately at each branch?
Yes. Stock is counted per branch in single units and shown the way you count the shelf, such as 3 Box + 5 Can. A wrong count never blocks a sale; you correct it with a count.
Can I run a promotion at only one branch?
Yes. A promotion runs at the branches you choose, or at every branch if you choose none. It applies automatically at the till, and the bill shows what came off.
Can each branch print its own receipt?
Yes. Each branch prints with one receipt template: your header and footer text, Khmer names on or off, VAT breakdown on or off, and 58mm or 80mm paper. A branch without its own template uses your default one.
